Ada L. Roberts

Ada L. Roberts, age 90, of Lancaster, died on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Fennimore. She was born on January 28, 1920, in Ellenboro Township, the daughter of George and Elsie (Eastman) Sandleback. Ada graduated from Lancaster High School and attended Madison Business College. She married Arno Hartman. They had a son, Jimmy. Ada later married Ed Roberts. They had a daughter, Roberta. Ada was a caregiver and a nurse who took care of many elderly persons in their homes. She was a member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church and the Womens Circle and she enjoyed crocheting, quilting, reading, playing bingo, doing jig saw puzzles and visiting with people.

Survivors include her grandson, Tim Hartman, Cassville; a great-granddaughter, Lisa Hartman, Monroe; and nieces and a nephew.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, Arno and Edward, Ada was preceded in death by her two children, James and Roberta; two brothers: Leslie (Marie) Sandleback and Elmer (Alice) Sandleback; three sisters: Delphia Sandleback, Genevieve (Frank Pete) Flesch, and Dorothy Sandleback.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Lancaster with Pastor Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster. Family and friends called on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Kathryn Robinson

Eugene E. "Gene" Rodgers

Eugene E. Gene Rodgers, age 83, of rural Patch Grove, entered into his Fathers heavenly home on Monday, February 15, 2010, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster, after having been in poor health for several years.

Gene was born in Roseville, IL, on June 5, 1926, to John E. and Ethyle (Olsen) Rodgers. He was educated in the Roseville schools. On March 3, 1940, he accepted Christ as his Savior and faithfully served as a member of the Roseville Christian Church. On June 3, 1944, he enlisted in the United States Navy, receiving his boot camp training at Great Lakes Training Base near Chicago. He proudly served with the 3^rd and 7^th fleets in the Pacific area on the battleship, USS San Francisco. On May 22, 1946, he was honorably discharged with a gunners mate 3^rd class rank.

He married Betty Ray in the Roseville Christian Church on December 7, 1947, and they farmed in the Roseville area, near Galesburg and Alexis, IL. In 1966, they moved to their dairy farm south of Prairie du Chien. Gene and Betty celebrated their 62^nd wedding anniversary last December. They are the proud parents of Sharon, Terrell, TX; Julie Anne and Kerry, Onalaska; Loree (Bob) Nies, Patch Grove; Stephen (Tina), Muscoda; John and Robyn at home; he is grandpa to Jeremy (Cara) Rodgers, Gillette, WY; Joanie, Jessica, Jennalea, Renee, Monica, Skylar and Simon Rodgers of Muscoda; Allie and Carter Rodgers are his great-grandchildren in Wyoming; two brothers: Leland (Evelyn) and Rolland (Marjorie) Rodgers, both of Roseville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lois Fackler; a nephew, Mike Rodgers; an infant brother, Kenneth.

Gene was a faithful member of the Bible Baptist Church in Prairie du Chien, having served as a deacon for many years. He was a man of his word and testimony of what God can do in your life when you are totally committed to Him and He is first in your life and your dealings with others. He is only separated from his beloved family for a short time until each one is called Home. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me. John 14:6.

Funeral services were held at the Bible Baptist Church in Prairie du Chien on Friday, February 19, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Andy Doll officiating. Burial was in Union Nagle Cemetery, Patch Grove Township, near their home. Family and friends were welcome at Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington on Thursday, February 18, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church on Friday. In lieu of plants and flowers, an Eugene Rodgers memorial fund was established.

John E. Roesch

John E. Roesch, age 75, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Agrace Hospicare in Fitchburg. He was born on July 29, 1937, in Lancaster, the son on Glen and Mildred Leona (Holmes) Roesch. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1955. Following graduation, John served his country in the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1959. In 1958, he was united in marriage to Irene Cotel who preceded him in death in 2007. In 2009, John married his high school sweetheart, Arlene Sandleback, and enjoyed life together that they had missed.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene Roesch; daughters: Jackie (Bob) Matters; Linda (Dennis) Snyder; sons: Daniel (Ann) and Ryan (Mindy); step-daughters: Brenda (Konrad) Shaw; Annette (Joe) Lolwing; Lois (Kevin Govier) Wieland; Karen (Steve) Dauck; Lorraine (Roger) Winkers; many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren; his brother, Jim (Helen) and brother-in-law, John Joyce.

In addition to his wife and parents, John was also preceded in death by sisters: Pat (Bernard) Chapman and Jean Joyce; step-son, David Wieland; step-granddaughter, Addison Jane Laack.

Grave side services with military honors were held on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. At Johns request, there was no visitation. Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services is serving the family.

Patricia A. Roesch

Patricia A. Roesch, age 54, of Potosi , died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at her home. She was born on March 14, 1956 in Rockford , IL , the daughter of Virgil and Geneva ( Wayne ) Thingvold. Pat graduated from Boscobel High School and received a Nursing Degree from Southwest Technical College in Fennimore. She was united in marriage to Russell Salmon on November 25, 1976 , who preceded her in death on August 12, 1982 . Pat was united in marriage to Paul Roesch on September 24, 1983 in Lancaster . She worked as a Registered Nurse at Mineral Point Care Center for 15 years and was promoted to Director of Nursing. The last several years, Pat was a RN at Southwest Health Center in Platteville. Pat liked sewing, fishing, baking and especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Paulie Roesch, Potosi; four children: William J. Salmon, Potosi; Amanda J. (Sean) Fortney, Platteville; Nathanial E. (Tina) Salmon, Mt. Hope and Alisha M. (Bobbie) Keener, Owego, NY; a brother, Michael (Natalie) Thingvold, Potosi; 12 grandchildren: Brenna, Austin, Tristin, Thomas, Taylor, Kevin, Tessa, Blake, Jordan, Nathanial Jr., Nathan and Myia; two brothers-in-law: Dale (Judy) Roesch, Lancaster and Terry (Connie) Roesch, Glen Haven; two sisters-in-law, Linda Roesch (Al Chamberlain) and Gloria (Scott) Kraft, both of Boscobel; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; her parents; a grandson, Keith; a granddaughter, Faith and her brother, Phillip Thingvold.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Schwartz Funeral Home (142 West Oak St. , 608.723.4500) in Lancaster with Teri A. Hanson officiating. Burial was held in Boscobel Cemetery . Family and friends were welcome from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.

Robert C. "Bob" Roesch

Robert C. Bob Roesch, age 92, of Lancaster, died on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the Lancaster Care Center, Lancaster. He was born on July 14, 1919, in Potosi Township, the son of Arthur and Mary (McLaughlin) Roesch. Bob attended Elmdale rural school and served as its board clerk until its closing. He farmed his entire life on the Roesch family farm in Waterloo Township. Bob was united in marriage to Lennice M. Davies on May 26, 1942, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, IA. He was a member of the West Grant Saddle Club and took great pride in his horses and driving team. He was a proud member of the NFO, and a salesman for Madison Silo and Starline Farm Equipment. Bob especially enjoyed and looked forward to all family gatherings.

Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-nine years, Lennice, Lancaster; children: Judy (Richard Taylor) Kleinfeldt, Madison; Jack (Linda) Roesch, Janis (Chuck) Yoose, Gary (Gale) Roesch, Dennis (Jane) Roesch, Alan Roesch, all of Lancaster; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Marcella (Joe) Case.

Walter C. Roesch

Walter C. Roesch, age 86, of Platteville, formerly of Potosi, died Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Grays Nursing Home in Platteville. Walter was born on August 9, 1925, in Potosi, the son of Clyde and Julia (Keehner) Roesch.

After graduation from Potosi High School, Walter attended Bayless Business College in Dubuque, IA. During World War II, Walter served in the U.S. Army. He worked as an administrative assistant at the Potosi Brewery. Walter later worked at the Civil Defense Office in Lancaster until his retirement. He was a member of the Davies Memorial United Church of Christ, where he played the organ for over 40 years.

Walter is survived by several cousins, and other loving relatives & friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Julia.

Funeral Services were held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at the Davies Memorial United Church of Christ in Potosi, with Pastor Petra Streiff officiating. Burial with Military Honors was in British Hollow Cemetery, Potosi Township. Visitation was from 9 am to 11 am Tuesday at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Potosi is handling arrangements.

In lieu of plants and flowers, a Walter C. Roesch Memorial Fund has been established.

Shirley A. Ronan

Shirley A. Ronan, age 87, of Bloomington, died on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on January 27, 1925, in Bloomington the daughter of Miner M. and Helen (Mason) Knapp. Shirley was raised on the Knapp Family Farm in Bloomington. In 1949, she was united in marriage to James Ronan. Shirley loved spending time with her family, baking desserts, playing cards and being outside. She had a passion for maintaining family history and took pride in updating records for the Bloomington High School Alumni Directory. Shirley was the go-toperson for any fact or piece of information anyone needed. She was a caregiver to many and enjoyed volunteering her time. She babysat and helped out her family and neighbors. Shirley was employed with Zenz and Ronan Implement, Dr. P.K. Edwards Office, Melvin Bonn Law Office, Burros Insurance and Skelgas.

Survivors include her children: Mary (Robert) Mergen, Glen Haven; Kay Taylor, Lancaster; Jane (Mike) Martin, Corpus Christi, TX; honorary daughter number four, Ellen of Lancaster; honorary son, Pat of Bloomington; her grandchildren: Jim (Sue Rinehart) Mergen; Anne (Tom) Hore; Steve (Michele Hewitt) Mergen; Michelle (Michael) Vance; Michael (Crystal Cardenas) Martin; Ryan Taylor; great-grandchildren: Eric, Justin, Brittany, Jena, MaKayla, Tristen, Kara, Jayden, Mikey and Aiden; her sister, Virginia Ward, Bloomington; sisters-in-law: Evelyn Skip Knapp, Bloomington; Shirley Pelishek, West Bend; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Jim, Shirley was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Knapp.

Loren C. Ross

Loren C. Ross, age 89, of Bagley, died on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. He was born on May 16, 1920, in Edgewood, IA, the son of Loren and Laura (Hannah) Ross. On April 27, 1941, Loren was united in marriage to Marjorie C. DeWitt. He was employed at John Deere.

Survivors include his six children: Alan (Mary) Ross, Monroe, IA; Ramona Sedlmayr, Bagley, Laura Dukes, Tampa, FL; Leta Hying, Lancaster; Nelson (Debbie) Ross, El Run Heights, IA; and Beverly Ross, Rockford, IL; 28 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Loren was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, a son, Loren J. Ross, a grandson, Jason Dukes, his son-in-law, Lloyd Sedlmayr, and a daughter-in-law, Donna Ross.

Dolores A. Rumler

Dolores A. Rumler, age 77, of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, August 06, 2011, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born September 8, 1933, on the family farm in Bagley, the daughter of Joe and Ann (Huser) Bierman. Dolores had eight children in her first marriage and on July 19, 1969, she married Donald Rumler and had one child. Dolores was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. She was employed at LLC in Lancaster for many years. Dolores loved having her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren around her. Spending time in her flower gardens, crocheting, sewing, doing crafts, doll collection, puzzles and watching birds were of great interest to her.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Rumler, Bloomington; two step-sons, D. Wm. (Judy) Rumler, Elizabeth, CO; Larry E. (Vicki) Rumler, Moline, IL; nine children: Stephen (Erica) Hill, Madison; Barbara (Keith) Bohringer, Waunakee; Sandi (Curt) Mergen, Lancaster; Katherine (Randy) Strang, Cheyenne, WY; Bev (James) Broihahn, Lancaster; Joan Hill, Madison; Jacqueline (Rick) Clark, Mt. Hope; Gerri (Joe) Reuter, Lancaster; Ted (Amy) Rumler, Mt. Horeb; nineteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis (Joan) Bierman, Glen Haven; a sister, Mary Sue (Bill) Bausch, Cassville; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Bierman and a nephew, David Bierman.

Donald Rumler

DONALD RUMLER, age 88, of Bloomington, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison. He was born September 6, 1923, in East Moline, IL, to William J. and
Grace (Samuelson) Rumler. Donald married Wilma Becker on January 7, 1942, and they had two sons. Donald married Dolores A. Hill on July 19, 1969, and had one son. Donald is a World War II Veteran. He enlisted in the United States Air Corp. on August 8, 1940, training at Scott Air Force Base in IL; stationed at Denver, CO; Lemoore CA; Mohave Desert; and Madison, in positions from Military Police to Staff Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Donald had a love for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. Donald loved to tell jokes and laugh with his brothers and family. He was an avid gardener and loved to raise poodles. "Dolly" will sure miss him. Donald was a member of the Abraham Hickok Wetmore American Legion Post No. 148 of Bloomington.

brothers: William, Harold, Clifford, Robert, Roy Sparky;three sisters: JoAnn, Janice and Juanita; three grandchildren: Todd, Lance and Tracy Rumler.

Burial with military honors was in St. Marys Cemetery, Bloomington. Family and friends called on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Duane O. Rowe

Duane O. Rowe, age 76, died on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at his home in Lancaster. He was born on July 3, 1934, in Kinross, Iowa, the son of LeRoy and Mamie (Higgins) Rowe. Duane graduated from high school in 1951, where he excelled in sports. He graduated with a degree in Animal Husbandry from Iowa State University, where he was named Outstanding ROTC Cadet. Duane was commissioned into the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Sill, Ft. Lewis, and Ft. Huachuca. Following his active duty, Duane served in the United States Army Reserve for six years. On June 12, 1955, Duane was united in marriage to Virginia Ulrich at the First Evangelical Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Duane was employed as a livestock buyer in Iowa for Rath Packing Company, Iowa Pork, Iowa Beef, and Oscar Mayer. He later transferred to Wisconsin as an Oscar Mayer district supervisor. Duane also enjoyed his career as an agricultural loan officer and vice president for Union State Bank and as a loan officer for Federal Land Bank, but his first love was farming. He farmed for more than 30 years, raising Simmental cattle and exceptional American Quarter Horses.

Duane was a member and deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster.Duane enjoyed watching NASCAR and professional football, especially Brett Favre.He was well-read and well-educated, and could strike up an interesting conversation with everyone he met. Duane loved children and was never too busy to saddle up a pony or take a wide-eyed youngster on their first tractor ride. He loved his horses, shooting pool, and playing golf.

Survivors include: Virginia Rowe, Lancaster; children: Steve Rowe, Tucson, AZ; Dee Rowe, Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren: Valerie Rowe and Christine (David) Lee; great-granddaughter, Dominique Martinez; one sister: Betty (Robert) Steen, Davenport, IA; two brothers: Terry (Martha) Rowe, Peoria, IL; and Lynn (Joan) Rowe, Centennial, CO; Sally Metcalf and her family, Lancaster; other relatives and the many friends whose life he enriched!

Pearl M. Runde

Pearl M. Runde, age 87, of Lancaster, died on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on February 17, 1924, in Beetown Township, the daughter of Harry and Hannah (Bast) Bass. On December 27, 1941, she was united in marriage to Al Runde at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Pearl loved to play cards, go fishing and gardening.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-nine years, Al Runde, Lancaster; her children: Larry (Judy) Runde, Lancaster; Trudy Runde, Madison; Terry Runde, Manitowoc; grandchildren: Amy Runde, Japan; Walt Runde, Berthoud, CO; Shannon (Mark) Broker, Neenah; Kristal Runde, Cross Plains; Karen Runde, Lancaster; and two great-grandchildren: Kaylee and Tyler Broker.

In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her brother, Harold; sister-in-law, and one nephew.

Kenneth L. Ruchti

Kenneth L. Ruchti, age 80, of Lancaster, passed from this life to his eternal life with God in Heaven on Friday, May 1, 2009, at his residence in Lancaster. He was born on November 8, 1928, in rural Fennimore, the son of Lawrence and Wilma (Stenner) Ruchti. He graduated from Fennimore High School in 1946. On September 23, 1950, Kenneth was united in marriage to Charlotte Dodge. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War for sixteen months in Japan. Kenneth was honorably discharged in January of 1954. He spent his adult life working in the grocery business as a manager retiring from Dicks in 1991. Kenneth was a member of the Calvary Community Church and served as a hospital courier for Grant Regional Health Center until 2005. He was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 109 of Lancaster. Kenneth was a loyal Wisconsin Badger and Chicago Cubs fan.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a brother, Glen in May of 2007.

Survivors include his wife: Charlotte Ruchti, Lancaster; his son: Mark (Joyce) Ruchti, Elmhurst, IL; one grandson, Michael Ruchti, Elmhurst, IL; a brother: Bernard (Iva) Ruchti, Madison; a sister-in-law, Arlene Ruchti, Fennimore and his pet dog, Jake.

Funeral services were held on Monday, May 4, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Community Church in Lancaster with Pastor David Arevalo officiating. Burial with military honors was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends called on Monday, May 4, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services as the church. Charles M. Russell

Charles M. Chuck Russell, age 90, of Cassville, passed away peacefully at the Lancaster Care Center in Lancaster on Saturday, November 9, 2013, after a brief illness. Chuck was born on the family farm in the Town of Erin, on March 25, 1923, the son of William and Ethel (Manning) Russell. He graduated from Hartford High School and went on to obtain a degree in Engineering from Marquette University. In 1942, Chuck enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps. After completing Flight School, he was stationed in England with the 8^th Air Force, flying B-24s in the European Theatre. At the end of World War II and surviving thirty plus missions, he went on to fly P-51 Mustangs with the Wisconsin Air National Guard. Chuck was recalled into the regular Air Force with the Strategic Air Command and flew B-36s during the Korean Conflict. At this time, he was also involved in the Atomic Weapons Program. On April 5, 1953, Chuck was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. Chuck continued his aviation career of sixty-three years with everything from crop dusting to corporate air craft to experimental air planes, including building one of his own. Chucks passion was flying but his family meant the world to him. On May 30, 1949, Chuck was united in marriage to Jacquelyn Cathers at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. He was a loving husband of sixty years, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a gentleman until the end. Chuck enjoyed dancing and the outdoors. He taught his children many useful skills from hunting to riding horses. Chuck had a special relationship with each of his children. Dad our hearts are broken, but your spirit will live on in all of us. We love you forever more.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Jacque on October 7, 2009, and two sisters, Lois and Helen.

Survivors include nine children: Charles P., Prescott, AZ; Christine (Kenny Nehls) Russell, Cassville; Catherine Ann Russell, Cobb; Bill (Jane); Sheila (Rod) Breuer; Don (Kathy); Theresa (Jerry) Reynolds, all of Cassville; Pat Boney (friend Karen); and Katie (Mike) Parkins, all of Potosi; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers: Dr. Wm. (Alice), Sun Prairie; Robert, Phoenix, AZ; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial with military honors was in St. Mary Settlement Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends called on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Edith Russell

Edith E. Russell, age 92 passed away Monday July 21, 2014 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born in Liberty Township, near the Coon Hollow area, on November 28, 1921 the daughter of Leo and Elsie (Wenzel) Fritz. Edith attended Becker grade school, and was confirmed in St. Pauls United Church of Christ at Liberty Ridge. She married Clinton G. Russell on March 15, 1938, in Lancaster. Together they farmed in the Burton area of Waterloo Township where Edith milked cows and worked the fields. She took great pride in the beauty of her home, yard, flower and vegetable gardens. Edith enjoyed sharing her bountiful garden, homemade biscuits and pies with her family.

Surviving is her daughter Arlene (Norbert) Wieland, two sons-in-law, Udell Ames and Dennis Stluka, eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, fifteen great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Wilma Russell, two sisters-in-law, Rosella and Connie Fritz, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Clinton, Edith is preceded in death by her daughters Delores Toddy Ames and Bonnie Stluka, her son Larry; her brothers, Walter (Evelyn), Douglas, Donald (Jeanette), Curtis (Darlene), and Eldon Fritz, her sister Lorraine Pagenkopf, and a brother in law Fred Russell.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster, with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Friday July 25, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.

Jacquelyn J. Russell

Jacquelyn Jean Russell, age 83, of Cassville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at her daughters home surrounded by her family. She was born in Cassville on July 2, 1926, the daughter of John and Deanne (Oelke) Cathers. Jackie grew up in Cassville and thoroughly loved being a part of the Adrian, Esser, and Bausch extended family. After graduating from Cassville High School in 1942, and later Marquette University, she met Charles Russell. Jackie and Chuck were married on May 30, 1949, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. Some people remember the salute to the newly married couple by several B25 aircraft flying over Cassville that day. Jackie always dreamed of having a large family and truly got her wish. She was not only a loving and generous mom to her own family, but welcomed all neighborhood children into her home as well. While raising nine children wasnt easy, she had the patience of a saint and was always there to listen and guide us in the right direction. When time allowed, Jackie loved to read, play bridge, sew, tend to her flowers and in her younger years, to dance the night away. Jackie was a truly special and remarkable lady. She will be forever missed by her husband of sixty years, children and grandchildren, especially Josh and Makylie. Her beautiful, sweet smile will never be forgotten. Mom our hearts are broken, but your spirit will live on in all of us. We love you forever more.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents.

JoAnn Russell

JoAnn Annie Russell, age 70, of Potosi, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012, at her home in Tennyson surrounded by her family. She was born on October 16, 1941, in Lancaster, the daughter of George Butch and Viola (Bierman) Kress. JoAnn graduated from Potosi High School in 1959. In September of 1959, JoAnn was married. She raised four children and was employed as a waitress at the Dug Out. JoAnn was later employed at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in housekeeping for twenty-seven years, retiring in November 2009. She enjoyed playing cards, dice, listening to George Jones and the Sunday radio show, the Roadhouse, going to the casino with her best friend, Hattie, camping and traveling to Branson, MO, with her sisters. JoAnns greatest love was spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her four children: Becky Harrison, Sun Prairie; Tammie (Joe) Vacha, Potosi; Craig Russell, Edgerton; Shelley (Phil) Spensley, Belmont; nine grandchildren: Tony, Sarah (Robert), and Abbey (Mike) Harrison; Eric (Katie) and Cody Vacha; Ryan and Cory Russell; Kyle (Angie) Spensley and Kayla (Matt) McGowan; two great-grandchildren: Zoey Russell and Lola Spensley; her brothers and sisters: Diana Sis Schaal, Potosi; John Kress, Dubuque, IA; Pete Kress, Lancaster; June (Kenny) Friederick, LaMotte, IA; Nelle Leibfried, Potosi; a sister-in-law: Suzanne Kress, Potosi; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by a brother, Eldon Kress; a sister-in-law, Sandy Kress; and a brother-in-law, Doug Schaal.

Funeral services were held on Friday, March 9, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson with Father Richard Leffler officiating. Burial was in Van Buren Cemetery, Potosi Township. Family and friends called on Thursday, March 8, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Martin Funeral Home in Potosi is serving the family.

William M. Russell

William Michael Russell passed away on January 4, 2015 at the age of 60.

Bill was born on November 27, 1954 in Lancaster, Wisconsin, the son of Charles and Jacquelyn Russell. He attended St. Charles grade school and moved with his family to Dubuque, Iowa, where he attended senior high school. He later attended Fennimore Vocational School.

Bill was united in marriage June 7, 1975 to Jane Bethke. They welcomed their beautiful daughter, Andrea Christine, and settled in Lancaster, WI. Bill worked for the Pink Pony and LCC.

In 1979 they were blessed with a son, Joseph Charles. They relocated to Madison, WI where Bill worked for over 30 years as a dispatcher for Wingra Stone. In 1983, Bill and his family moved to Verona, WI. They spent 30 years in Verona, until August of 2013, when they moved to Cassville, WI, to be closer to family. Bill was loved by, and blessed to have, many co-workers, family, and friends. He was always kind and loving to whomever he met. We often joked that he should have been a salesman, as he could talk to anyone and light up any room. Bill loved sports, tennis, hunting, fishing, camping, ping pong, and trips to Jamaica and Mexico. His favorite passion was golfing. In the summer of 2014, he golfed for the last time in Lancaster with his dear friends Julie and Mike. He was beaming with excitement that he could still hit the ball!

Bill's most precious accomplishments are his children and grandchild. Andrea (Shawn) of Madison and Joseph (Nikki) of Viroqua and granddaughter Marian. Bill was blessed to have his beautiful granddaughter with him for regular visits. Marian Grace inspired his will to keep living and fighting the battle of Parkinson's disease. They loved enjoying M&M's, ice cream, and chocolates. She loved her Papa dearly and was his biggest cheerleader.

Bill was preceded in death by his father Charles in 2013, and mother Jacquelyn in 2009.

Survivors include his eight siblings: Charles, Christine (Kenny), Catherine "Ann", Sheila (Rod), Donnie (Kathy), Theresa (Jerry), Pat (Karen), and Katie (Joe).

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville, with Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Visitation was Monday, January 19, 2015, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the church. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cassville is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Wisconsin Parkinson's Association or a charity of your choice.

Marguerite Ryan

Marguerite Voth Ryan, age 96, died on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at the Lancaster Care Center in Lancaster, Wisconsin. She was born on June 21, 1917, to Clem and Josephine (Stephan) Voth. The majority of her life she resided in Prairie du Chien, WI. Marguerite taught at both St. Johns Catholic School and Prairie du Chien Elementary School. She loved her 3^rd and 4^th grade students. Upon retirement, she taught adult basic education in the Opportunity and Personal Development Center and was active on the Prairie du Chien Library Board. She later moved to Lancaster, Wisconsin to be close to her daughter, Peg. Marguerite remained an avid reader, enjoyed dining out, shopping, potato chips, chocolate and her brandy and 7-Up.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Ryan.

Survivors include a son, John (Sara) Ryan of Prairie du Chien, a daughter, Mary Ryan (Robert Roper) of Baltimore, MD and a daughter, Peg Ryan of Lancaster, a grandson, David (Chris) Ryan and granddaughter, Anne Busacca-Ryan. Also surviving are her four legged family, Hannah and Flannigan McGuire Ryan.

A celebration of Marguerites life and legacy was held at the Lancaster Care Center on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lancaster Library Fund. Martin Funeral Home in Lancaster is assisting the family.

Ann Ryznar

Ann Louise Murray-Ryznar, age 55 of Cassville, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016, surrounded by her loving family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Grant Regional Health Center, in Lancaster. She was born December 6, 1960 in Istanbul, Turkey, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Lund) Jacobsen. In her youth, Ann Louise was raised in Turkey, Spain, Swaziland, Kenya, France, and stateside in Kansas. She continued her education at Lawrence College, in Appleton, Wisconsin. This led to a teaching position in Chicago for many years. In graduate school, Ann Louise met her first husband, John Murray. He preceded her in death in 2004. Ann Louise was employed as an art teacher at Wyalusing Academy in Prairie du Chien. She was the Special Education Teacher in the Cassville School District. On August 26, 2006 Ann Louise was united into marriage to Thomas E. Ryznar. She enjoyed the outdoors and all the activities it provided, which included horseback riding, and caring for any kind of animal. She had a very artistic side that included ceramics, jewelry making, and calligraphy.

Surviving is her loving husband, Tom; her sons, Sean and Nicholas Murray; parents, Edward and Mary Jacobsen; mother in law, Ann Ryznar; sisters, Lisa (Jeff) Rockwood and Greta Strobel; 3 nephews Steven Rockwood, Jesse and Jake Strobel, John Murray's daughter Colleen, as well and many dear friends and colleagues from Chicago and Cassville.

Ann was preceded in death by her first husband John Murray, her father in law John Ryznar Jr., and a brother in law, Joseph Strobel.

A Methodist Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends called on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until time of services at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. The Martin Funeral Home in Cassville is assisting the family. In lieu of plants and flowers, an Ann Louise Murray - Ryznar memorial fund has been established for her sons, Sean and Nicholas Murray.
